The old Awear building on Grafton Street

 The ever changing face of Grafton Street.

I felt sorry for the HMV/Awear building. A sign of troubled companies in (post?) recession times. I remember when HMV used to have the big massive building. This was in the days when it had all the monies and people bought DVDs instead of turning to Netflix. I am guilty of Netflix too!

It moved to the old Awear building and now has moved again to a smaller shop.

Awear was also unlucky. The Irish company plummeted over the years. I remember when it wasn't a bad place to shop back in 2004 before the stock quality diminished and then just got worse over the years.

HMV did actually trade with the Awear signs and pictures all over the building which is surely a bad omen to a business on its knees???  Still, it was nice being back on Grafton Street and seeing all the old haunts and places.

I miss Dublin. It's been a long time.
