Justin Bieber's Marilyn Manson Concert Tee Is His Best-Selling Item at

Courtesy of Barneys New York.

Justin Bieber made a Marilyn Manson shirt. Or, more specifically, Fear of God's Jerry Lorenzo designed it and Barneys is selling it as a part of a larger merch drop coinciding with the arrival of Bieber's Purpose tour in New York City. But it's Bieber's concert tee, and it has self-identified satanist Marilyn Manson's face on the front and "Bigger Than Satan" written on the back. The line launched at Barneys yesterday and already the $195 shirt is its most popular.

"We were confident the Marilyn Manson tee would be one of the most sought-after items in the collection," a Barneys spokesperson told VF.com. "First day sales proved our instinct right: the Marilyn Manson tee was the highest grossing item for opening sales. Most definitely, it'll be one of those covetable, collectible items in years to come."

If you were to draw a Venn diagram of Manson fans and Bieber fans, there would be roughly one person, maybe two in the center. Those two are just trying to figure it out like the rest of us, but they probably wouldn't buy the tee because this shirt relies on irony with a splash of shock. It's like Kanye West's Yeezus merch's Metallica-esque logo, which metalheads were vaguely bummed about, but with the ante upped a little. Clearly the genre mashup is working for Bieber and all other parties involved.

Manson's team didn't respond questions about the shirt, but he did post an Instagram of himself wearing more traditional Bieber swag back in March when Bieber first started wearing Lorenzo's designs on stage. He captioned it "Bigger than Bieber." Look:

A couple of nights later Bieber and Manson took a selfie together, and Bieber posted a picture of the two mid-selfie. Notably, they're doing duckface. Maybe—hopefully—Manson belongs in the middle of that Venn diagram, too.
