Essential Files Under-Screen Camera Patent for Mobile Phones

American smartphone maker  Essential filed a patent for a front camera under the screen. The patent was published by the US Patent and Trademark Office and is entitled “Optical Sensors Arranged Under the Screen of an Electronic Device”.
Essential is now the third company to dominate under-screen camera technology, as OPPO and Xiaomi have already shown prototypes of phones that have this feature.
Once companies have explored all of the front camera style, including notch, screen hole, swivel camera and sliding pop-up, we may have a whole new approach coming to market in 2020.

Since February, it has been rumored that Essential would be working on a PH-2 to replace the PH-1, and that it would have a front camera under the screen.
However, at present the company is preparing to launch another smartphone that should come with a camera for selfies in the same style of the sensors of the new devices Galaxy S and Galaxy Note , the Samsung .
The patent further describes that the portion of the screen where the sensor will be accommodated will have variable transparency technology. This transparency should come into play when the front camera is activated by the user.
We don't know exactly how the feature will work, but it looks like it will be interesting. In fact, just for some company to be struggling to abolish notch and the hole in the screen is a big step.
